Bob and Roberta Smith commissioned to design Tate Christmas Tree

Bob and Roberta Smith have been commissioned to create this year’s Tate Britain Christmas Tree. Entitled Make Your Own Xmas, this will be an imaginative and celebratory art work and Bob and Roberta Smith will also create the Director’s Christmas Card. Tate has commissioned a leading contemporary artist to design its Christmas Tree every year since 1988. The tree is situated in the Rotunda at Tate Britain from 5 December 2008 until 4 January 2009. Entry is free. Past artists commissioned to create the Christmas Tree have included:
Sarah Lucas, Fiona Banner, Gary Hume, Yinka Shonibare, Michael Landy, Cornelia Parker and Mark Wallinger.
