The interstice defined his figurative paintings throughto the 1980-90. And it continues to do so after the figure, the narrative and the allogory have been pushed to the background by the newest developments in his art. What remains is the special mood; a sense of something indefinable, the interstice between us and our surroundings.
What remains is nature. Not just human nature, but also our natural surroundings; nature as the basis of our existence.
